I am a fan of good Pinot Noir, and even a bigger fan of good reasonably priced wines. The 2010 Mandolin Pinot Noir is one of those wines. The wine has nice balance . It goes down smoothly, while still entertaining your palette. What really stood out in this wine for me personally was the “in your face” raspberry flavor it has, which I found quite pleasant. The flavor was tempered by more subtle spicy woodsy tones, adding to the overall depth and character of the wine.
This would make a nice choice with quail or a glazed pork dish.
Bottles retail for $15, but I am sure you can find it for a couple dollars less if you shop around.
